Kinda looking around at some different types of fish for a center piece fish. I have been looking online at a bunch of different gourami or some kind of angle fish. Well what i am trying to do is find something that intresting and different.
If anyone has some suggestions or ideas i wouldnt mind hearing them. Doesnt have to be an angel fish or gourami. Hoping to make an order in the new year.
My tank is 44x18x18.
Thanks

What other fish do you have in the tank? This will make finding a centerpiece fish a lot easier. How planted/decorated is it?

Many of the dwarf cichlids would do well in a community. Bolivian rams would go well in that tank.

idk about the chiclid idea the tetra tend to be a little too agressive for them...

well the tank is the one in my sig. Plus i have 10 diamond tetras waiting to get in. Sucks ordering fish this time of year.
I am not realy a fan of cichilids.
Think a blood parrot would eat my neons ?
I had gourami's before. I actualy enjoy watching them. I had a gold and a moonlight long time ago. I was planning on a pair, but i was intrested in others. I have been browsing the list of fish you fresh water species list you have here on ac.
I actualy wanted rainbows but i thought they where a schooling fish? I would love to have a school of those also but i think it would be to many fish. If i had a bigger tank i think i would have a school of 20 bosemani rainbow's lol

Gouramis do make very nice centerpiece fish. They are graceful looking and come in lovely colors. You just have to watch beacuse they can be a bit aggressive depending on the Gourami you get. Not to mention if you get a pair it can get rough. But one would be nice. IDK much about Angels, I think they are beautiful, but other than that cant help ya.

I had a pair of gold's in my 33 one time but after the first few months they got agressive so i sold them to the lfs store. I do like them, how they seem to glide through water. Now having the 60 gallon they should be have tons more room and hiding places, i think i will try them again.

love my gold and i think a 60 gal would be enough room territory wise for two

Just to be safe i will wait till my plants grow out a bit more to provide more hiding spaces.

what about black ghost knife? I've had one for about 3 years, and they definetly give that different factor to the tank. Hes been in a community tank with mainly tetras his whole life, and stays pretty much to himself. Once you get them on bloodworms, they are really quite easy to care for.
