I have always had a couple teaspoons of aquarium salt in my 50g. Added a black moore and wondering if the salt will harm him. The others have been in there 2 yrs, no problem.

A few tsp in a tank does not brackish make.2-3 tbsp per gallon makes brack. And no, a black moor is not brack nor is any goldfish.

Like stated, black moors or any other goldfish are not brakish. Is there a reason you are adding salt to your tank? Unless treating for a problem there is no need for salt. And if you did want to make a brackish tank you would want marine salt as there is more to saltwater than just 'salt'.

i think this will help clear up any questions you may have about adding salt to your freshwater tank.

are you maybe confusing black moore with black molly? I remember seeing black mollies used to cycle the LFS' sw tanks before.
