no species of arowana is small enough to keep in a 4' tank for life.

Considering 1 arowana has the potential to grow to 4ft...I would say no.

i assume youre thinking of a silver arowana, and even then 4' is a pretty steep estimate. however they do grow very large. but there are also other species besides the silvers which do not grow as big.
either way, a single arowana cannot be kept in a 4' tank, let alone more than one

What they said^

Most arowana will grow at least 3', silvers will get bigger and asians stay a bit smaller, around 2'... still way too big for a 55 gallon tank.

agreed 6 ft tank at least. i bought my silver at 4 inches. just a little less then a year he is 13". im moving him up to an 8ft 300gal. he will be happy their.

id give u 6 months tops in a 55gal.

as far as keeping 2 arows. some people have done it but most will say its to risky.

6'x2'x2' minimum tank size for a single specimen IMO.
