That shock wave is nuts. This is only 100 tons too. Large nuclear weapons can hit 100 megatons, or 100 millions tons of ordinance. So imagine a blast a million times as powerful as this.

51 megs is i believe the largest ever exploded and it was in russia. i beieve most are in the low megaton range. it's still crazy though.

Ah, my bad. Thought I saw that 100 megaton figure somewhere. Must be have been kilotons or something. 57 megatons is still nuts though.

i think they were initially going to build a 100 meg one but it was going to be way to big to move so they built the 50+ meg one instead and air dropped it.
