Hello!

I live in Manhattan and would like to create a custom aquarium.

I have contacted a number of vendors and have a few quotes, but am looking for the best price.

Does anyone know of any glass shops or aquarium stores that create custom aquariums for a good price... either online or in Manhattan?

Thank you!
Jeff

Yeah! They have awesome prices and were the first place I contacted.

Unfortunately, they only ship acrylic and not glass aquariums.

Thank you for the suggestion though!!!!!

Get your measurements for the peices you need and go to a glass shop.
You may be able to get the trim peices for the top and bottom as well.
Get a price on a lid too.

Thanks! I've been contacting glass shops. Most seem to be on the expensive side, but I'm going to continue requesting quotes from them. Hopefully, someone will come in at a reasonable price.

What size are you making?
How thick is the glass your after?

I'm creating a simple 18" glass cube. It only has to be 1/4 thick as this particular project is for a terrarium and won't have to hold water.

No rim, polished edges, removable matching glass lid. I had one made in the past, but the glass company that did it charged me an arm and a leg.

You can make that out of old glass.Thats the stuff they have salvaged from other jobs. There is nothing wrong with it,its just not new. Some peices may have a few scratches but usually not.
You can always order a new peice for the front. It will save you a few bucks. They didn't have to buy it and it resells for cheap.
I have often bought from the used stock.Ask around.
