Finally got it clear after adding the concentrated bio powder I payed $5 for, it only took 2 days to be crystal clear.
Still not happy with aquascaping (are we ever?), but it will get there, just ordered a sheet of white melamine to build the hood, (hopefully tommorrow).

Then I only have the stand to box in, total price with decor, filter, pump, heater etc. will come in at under AU$600

Yep, me and the wife was talking about that last night, I will have to order them, as the tallest I can get around here are the 1 foot ones, I really wanted to go real plants, but with 4 silver dollars I found this near impossible.

I am also going to go to the dam next week and try to get a taller peice of driftwood as a centrepiece.

Beau-ti-ful!

sandstone and large driftwood are great centerpieces. One of my 20g's ( the heavily planted one ) has a large driftwood centerpiece, and one has a huge sandstone piece

She loves it, but as I have told her, without the help and knowledge gained on here, it would not have happened:thumb:

I used to resort to stealth. I remember a year ago, 13 months after i quit fish, i had the urge to either take out the 20g hex or the 33g. I took out the hex. Noone in the house noticed it for months. Stealth!

Very nice!

One other thing...next time you're redecorating...try arranging the plastic plants in groups...that will also give you a very nice effect...

That is a very nice set up as you have definitely made your fish happy. Congratulation on the tank and you can not beat the price for set up.

Thanks for the tip, since the pic was taken this afternoon, we had a major prob, yesterday we introduced 6 smaller cichlids into the tank, after posting the pic, I went out to the loungeroom, only to find Leroy, the osacar, with the tail of one of these hanging from his mouth, well we ripped out all the driftwood (replaced it as was), and plants went everywhere, after an hr of catching the remaining to relocate them, we could not get the plants how we wanted to, well, after a few hrs, Indy, our red devil, and leroy, rearanged the plants, and they are just as you say, in groups, hey they have to live there, they know best. LOL

Thanks to all for your kind comments, especially hunryhound, who I know loves his real plants, that is the way I really wanted to go with this tank, but with the silver dollars, I realised it would not happen.

I'm sorry to hear that Leroy ate his tankmate...

Thanks Rue, and so was we, and I am sure, going by the way he looked at us afterwards, he was to. My wife was so mad at him, but the puppy dog eyes he put on, as well as me explaining, we was to blame not him, he was acting on instinct, though she found it hard to forgive him, also found it hard to stay mad at him.
