Red Lava Rock from Lowes

I am trying to make caves for the Jack's I am getting. I wanted to use red lava rock from Lowes. It's the rock that you can use in flower beds to replace mulch. I just wanted to see if anyone has used it. I don't want to put a bunch of time making caves and the red bleed out or something and not be able to use it.

I have used, and still use black lava rock in my 10g nano. You have to wash it extremely well to get out all of the dirt from the nooks and crannys, but it is aquarium safe.
