Hi i have a 300 gallon tank and planning on getting:

7 Discus
2 Red severums
20 Neon tetras
15 Rummynose tetras
6 Congo tetras
2 german rams
2 Apistos
2 Gold nugget plecos

As you can se im aiming for an Amazon tank
i really want the severums, discus, and small tetras in one tank
i heard that the severums can co-exist with the discus if theres a large tank,
but im not sure about the small tetras

so please
help me
thx

Somebody may have gotten lucky and had it work for them, but 999 times out of a 1000 it wont. Discus are way too docile to handle the Sevs. Whether any of the others would work with the Sevs is up to the disposition of the Sevs. Some are more aggressive than others. The Discus may work with the Dwarfs but I've never tried it so cant say with 100% certainty. Leave out the Sevs and I think it's got a chance though.

7 discus is plenty for that size (I'm guessing 8') tank. Adding the Sevs would just crowd things.

Agreed, the dwarfs will be fine with the discus... You could try bigger SAs like keyholes and acuras.

I'm not sure that'll fit.

I agree that keyholes might be an option (and they're technically dwarf acaras) But acaras per se' would be a no no.

we are talking about a 300gal tank here. They'll fit just fine.

That was what I was joking about. I don't think a car will fit in a 300G LOL.

Maybe if they were squished into the little junkyard cubes... :14:

If the aquarium is planted, it'll help with the Discus' need for clean and pure water. Also, the Rams and Apistos should be in groups of at LEAST six each, as it's rather common for pairs to not get along.

The neon tetras will be food for the Discus when the latter matures, but you can triple the Rummy Nose school easily. The 82 degrees the Discus need will be tough on those gold nugget plecos, since they do best in the mid-70's

Were it me, it'd be 72 rummy nose, a dozen Congos, the Discus, and two dozen each of the Rams and Apistos, if, of course, it was a very well planted, landscaped, and established 300 gallon.
