Ich, I believe? HELP!!!!

Tiny white dots on some of my fish. This is for the new 40 gallon long, fully fishless cycle. Fish seem lethargic, only a few fish have said tiny white dots. Tank inhabitants: Mollies, corys, 2 snails, red eye tetras, swordtails. Use salt to treat? NEED HELP!

Just get some ICK meds and treat accordingly. Snails may have to be removed tho. They don't like salt or meds.

Thanks for the super-fast response, I'm kind of freaking out here. Should I vacuum the gravel as well or just treat the tank? Thanks! (Deep breath, deep breath)

Whole tank if you see more than one fish with it.

Looks like at least a few fish. After I read your response I quickly dosed the tank. Thanks for the help. Now, where is that nice bottle of wine so I can stop freaking out!

When you no longer see the ICK on the fish it doesn't mean it's gone. It falls off the fish and reproduces on the bottom of the tank and that's where it's killed. You can turn your heat up to get their reproduction cycle moving along faster. Fish should be fine in 82 degrees for several days.

Make sure you follow the directions on the medication and do the appropriate water changes as this will get rid of alot of the ICK as they are reproducing in the gravel and floating around in the water looking for someone new to attack.

We are following the directions precisely. The directions do not specify water changes, what do you recommend? Geez I sound like a beginner. I guess I have been lucky that I haven't had Ick for YEARS.
