Mulm eating

Hey everyone,
I've noticed that when I clean the tank my Flame Gourami resides in that he likes to eat the debris that's kicked up before it gets to the filter. Is this normal behavior? Should I be worried about her health?

That is very normal!
There is all kinds of goodies floating around when that is done.No worries!

I agree...not to mention he likely spits most of it back out once he figures it's not edible...

Yeah, she spits the stuff that isn't partially degraded food back out but, the somewhat dissolved flakes she gorgeous herself on seemingly.
