Hey AC,
I'm planning on stocking one or two Ghost Shrimp in my 15g which will also be housing a Flame Dwarf, a small school of Neon Tetras, and a small school of Zebra Danios. I'm quite sure the Neons and the Danios will leave the Ghost Shrimp be but, I'm curious about the Dwarf.
Anyone had any problems housing Ghost Shrimp with a Dwarf?
Thanks!:1luvu:

An aggressive gourami may show some interst in it and even try a few nips but I can't see it eating a shrimp unless maybe when its molting.
I think it will just leave it alone for the most part.

It may or may not decide the ghosties look like lunch. If you have heavy cover for the shrimp to hide in they will have a better chance. I throw a dozen or so ghosties in my 29g with a platinum gourami and still have some left. When I can't find anymore I'll just throw more in there.

I have about ten ghost shrimp in my twenty gallon. They are all doing fine with my opiline gourami. Your flame may poke at them with its feelers but that should be about it.

Alright, thanks for all the responses! I guess I'll go for it! I'm probably not going to keep too many, only 2 or 3 at the most. Hopefully I won't just be providing the Flame Gourami with a smorgasbord:hmm3grin2orange:

You may start with two or three but if the gourami leaves them be you will have plenty more soon.lol

Haha! That's what I've heard. They're little baby factories. If nothing else that would be a really interesting experience to have!

They do like to reproduce!lol
You can easily have two hundred in there.

Oh, god. I certainly hope it doesn't come to that. Although it could be worse. If that happens maybe my LFS will take them.

They will multiply but I don't think you will have any over population problems. If you do I am sure most lfs will take them.

Ghost shrimp should not be a problem reproduction wise as they reproduce in brackish conditions. The RCS are the ones who rapidly reproduce in fw.

Ah, okay! Thanks for the info. That saves some trouble but, at the same time it'd be a great experience to have if they did decide to go for it
