I am posting my question here since I know nothing about these 3 things.

1. When is it required to have a airpump in your tank?

2. When is it required to have a airwand in your tank?

3. I want to add co2 to my 20 Gallon planted tank. I have 3 Anachoris plants, 1 Java Fern, 1 hairgrass, 1 cabomba, 1 large Amazon Sword, 1 Milfoil, 3 Bananna plants, 1 red leaf Ludwigia and 1 green leaf Ludwigia. I seen there is CO2 pumps that are $25.00 and some that are $80.00. What is the diffrence?

4. will I get anything close to the same in preformance? I dont want to spend $80.00 , but don't mind spending up to $50.00 if it is a must.

5. Will CO2 Pump harm Frogs, Clams, Shrimp or Snails?

1) 2) If you have a very deep tank or little surface disturbance, an airpump/airwand (they go hand in hand) is helpful for breaking up surface film and oxygenating the water

3) What CO2 pumps are you referring to? Got a link? There are CO2 diffusers and generators, haven't heard of a pump

4) For a 20g, DIY CO2 usually suffices. It will cost about 5 bucks + 10-15 for a nice glass diffuser

5) CO2 injection lowers pH. If your CO2 injection is not steady, or is way overboard, it can lead to pH swings or asphyxiation.
