What kind of SW tank do you want?
Fish only
Fish with live rock
or a nano reef

Prob. a nano reef. I realized that i didnt state that. Just to be 100 percent sure. can u have fish with a nano reef because i read that some fish eat all the corals and stuff.

You are already going to be quite limited in what you can put in that tank for fish anyway.
How much reading have you done on the subject of keeping a marine tank? If you haven't done much, I'd suggest you start with the stickies and the articles available on this site. From there you should be able to build a good list of equipment.

Well, i read about it awhile back but never set up the tank. I just am curious. I plan to read the stickies and articles but i like the chatting too. Ha. I like to know the cost before i really stick my head into things.

Aqua C Remora Nano Skimmer-$60 used on ebay or $120 new
Koralia Nano Powerhead-$30
AC 20 HOB filter(to run chemical media in for phosphate and nitrate control)-$20
10lbs live sand-$10
10-15lbs live rock(depends on density)-$90
50watt heater-$15
Refractometer-$30
65-100watt light fixture-$90
50G Saltmix(Coralife, Oceanic Seachem are the better ones)-$15
RO/Distilled water-$1 per G
Reef Test Kits(NH4, NO3, NO2, KH, Ca, pH, PO4) Salifert makes the best ones-$100
Chemical media(chemi pure, purigen, polyfilter,etc)-$15
Bucket and small pump to mix SW-$10
Reefs are expensive, it is important to remember that. Skimping on equipment and cutting corners will not do anymore than cause you grief in the end. Its going to cost between $550-600 to get the little reef off the ground...then whatever you factor in for corals and livestock.
As for stock, 1 small fish(firefish, small goby, small clown, cardinal fish etc) would be as much fish as the tank could support. You can keep some inverts in the tank; 2 Nass snails, 2 margarita snails, 3-4 hermits would add activity but also help keep your reef clean. For corals Id stick to just some zoas, palys and mushrooms...theyre easy to keep, dont have huge demands on calcium, and look nice.
