I'm so excited to have these, I have wanted them since they were discovered. Today I took back my 9 neons and came home with 11 of these rasboras and a Betta, with my employees discount and credit for the neons it cost me £13 ($26)

My rasboras, not great pictures as it kept focusing on the background, but good enough to see them.

Very pretty. It's a shame Galaxy Rasboras are nearing extinction in the wild now though :(

Yes overfishing for the aquarium trade mainly, but at least we are keeping the species alive in our aquaria.

Yep, I say that all galaxy rasbora owners should get cracking on how to breed these fish and contribute to the general knowledge pool :)

didn't they change the genus of those galaxy rasboras? I though I may have read that somewhere, something along the lines of danios?

Yes, they are now like celestial pearl rasboras or something

I see a few of the online fish stores are carrying them now so farms are raising them apparently. The export of a lot of fish have stopped due to depleting stock in their area.

I'e wanted them since I first saw them, but they were too expensive and I had no room left in my tank.

Fortunately, the price is dropping due to them being farm raised so with the neon money I could get them for a good price, keep a look out for them. Good luck!

The site below has some good basic info on care and breeding, hoping to start breeding some myself...if I can find them!
