i was curious when u listed your fish u said that u had 100 + convicts how big is the tank they are in?

they are in 7 different tanks. each tanks is 13 gallon in size!!!

i see well i was planning to keep the ones i plan to purchase in a 66 litre tank(17 gallons) but wasnt sure if that was enough for six, would u approve?

it might be. you might want to only get males or females.becasue when two of them spawn all hell is going to break loose in your tank. those two will turn to the others in the tank, and say, leave or die, no joke!!!

Will stores puchase convicts from a normal breeder. Or do the by all there fish from special sources?

some store might, but most store will not buy convicts, they breed to easly. i do not , but will buy other fish from peoples. i got peoples wanting to paid me to take their convicts, but i only got so much room!!! i use to breed and supply pet shops with fish.

well personally if i were preparing to try and sell them to the shop id say "would u be interested in buying some juvenile convicts off me" that way theyd get the hint, but if they were gunna pay theyd most likely pay u in bulk

see if any shop will buy them, first. the wholesale price is in canada $2.20 to $2.50 each. the more you got the cheaper they get.

i see, also since the post turned into a complete convict forum, with the tank sut up it says that they prefer fine gravel almost snad like what if i have an undergravel filter

the bigger the better, and mean types. i would not use an under gravel filer for them(but that me).

Agreed. Undergravelfilter are no good with digging fish.

yes, my oscar has reveal the indergravel filter on one side but he rarely bigs now that he has only one eye :(

Another note about undergravle filter is that you shouldn't use them with new world cichlids if you want to breed them. Many species will dig a spawning pit down to the glass, or if you an undergravel filter to the filter and than lay their eggs in it. Eggs that disapear into the filter if they dug down onto the filter.

lol once i had a under ground filter with one of those digging frogs forget name and it got sucked up. I found it in the disposal container I belive i was 5 then our cat dumped over our fish tank
