04-14-2006, 03:14 PM

04-14-2006, 03:18 PM

04-14-2006, 03:22 PM
i think i might have more than i said. i sold over 20 yerterday.
04-14-2006, 03:28 PM
i see well i was planning to keep the ones i plan to purchase in a 66 litre tank(17 gallons) but wasnt sure if that was enough for six, would u approve?
04-14-2006, 03:40 PM
it might be. you might want to only get males or females.becasue when two of them spawn all hell is going to break loose in your tank. those two will turn to the others in the tank, and say, leave or die, no joke!!!
04-14-2006, 03:47 PM
well, i might just get one male and one female because i was palnning on breeding them
04-14-2006, 03:52 PM
Will stores puchase convicts from a normal breeder. Or do the by all there fish from special sources?
04-14-2006, 03:55 PM
i assume theyd take what they can in some cases
04-14-2006, 03:56 PM
Yea but will they PAY?
04-14-2006, 04:00 PM
some store might, but most store will not buy convicts, they breed to easly. i do not , but will buy other fish from peoples. i got peoples wanting to paid me to take their convicts, but i only got so much room!!! i use to breed and supply pet shops with fish.
04-14-2006, 04:01 PM
well personally if i were preparing to try and sell them to the shop id say "would u be interested in buying some juvenile convicts off me" that way theyd get the hint, but if they were gunna pay theyd most likely pay u in bulk
04-14-2006, 04:09 PM
see if any shop will buy them, first. the wholesale price is in canada $2.20 to $2.50 each. the more you got the cheaper they get.

i see, also since the post turned into a complete convict forum, with the tank sut up it says that they prefer fine gravel almost snad like what if i have an undergravel filter
04-14-2006, 04:19 PM

04-14-2006, 04:23 PM

04-14-2006, 04:29 PM
i mean convicts love to dig holes, they will dig under they ornament and up set them. that what i ment.
04-14-2006, 04:31 PM
oh i see, wern't u aware that the prefered sand type gravel?
04-14-2006, 04:36 PM
oh yes, they will dig and more things around quite a bit!!!
04-14-2006, 04:39 PM
well, if i were to put sand in the aquarium, i couldnt use and undergravel filter then could i?
04-15-2006, 03:05 PM
Rollie since your online, do u know of any good tankmates for oscars???
04-15-2006, 03:20 PM
the bigger the better, and mean types. i would not use an under gravel filer for them(but that me).
04-15-2006, 07:08 PM
Agreed. Undergravelfilter are no good with digging fish.
04-15-2006, 07:09 PM
yes, my oscar has reveal the indergravel filter on one side but he rarely bigs now that he has only one eye :(
04-15-2006, 07:48 PM
Another note about undergravle filter is that you shouldn't use them with new world cichlids if you want to breed them. Many species will dig a spawning pit down to the glass, or if you an undergravel filter to the filter and than lay their eggs in it. Eggs that disapear into the filter if they dug down onto the filter.
