I am going on a week and a half business trip. I have a 3 month old oscar in a 75 gallon aquarium by itself. Will it last two weeks? If it does how long because sometimes my boss makes me stay extra time and i want to make sure i can tell him when i NEED to come home.

According to this website: [Only Registered Users Can See Links.] at the very bottom they say not to feed fish during treatment which last 10 days but that fish can go 30 without food. I don't think I would want them to go 10 even. But I guess it is up to you.

Why dont you get somebody to feed your pet while you're gone??

I agree. You should hire a neighboor or something to feed it while you're gone. I personally wouldn't let my fish suffer like that. Im going on a trip for about a week too. I hired someone. But whatever works for you.thumbs2:

I spent 30 bucks for a feeder and it feeds them twice a day, like clock work.
You can set the amounts and what not works well with flakes.

I still use it when I am home too I just have to remember to be in front of the tank when it is time to eat :)

a) the fish wouldn't be suffering
b)it is good for you to sometimes skip food for a day since most owners overfeed anyways.
c) if you do get a automatic feeder get an eheim, it'll be expensive but it's very reliable.

I wouldn't worry about 1-2 weeks without food If it was a full grown fish, but its just a baby. I think he will easily survive but this may have negative effects on his future health and growth rate.

If there's someone trusted around you that knows about fish keeping, you can get him/her to feed your fish. I wouldn't do this if that person doesn't know about fish keeping. over feeding is more dangerous than starving.

Or if you want to get automatic feeder, get a reputed one. unless you may find it upside down in your tank with rotted foods and dead fish.
