Though when he gets alittle bigger you might want to cut the cucumber in half before throwing it in the tank, had to save my plec before. The stupid thing had himself trapped in the hole of the cucumber. Never put full slices in since :P

You kidding me? Three years to grow? Hummmmm, wonder how many cucumber slices that comes to. :)
I forgot to pull the cuke out yesterday and had a nice mess this morning! uck!
Mine are growing very slowly too...
We're not big zucchini eaters...but I'm thinking I'll start adding more to our diet - and the fish's...it's more nutritious than cucumber and stays firmer when fresh...easier to clean up after...

Canned green beans and asparagus are good, less messy than cukes or squash IME.
