View Full Version : "Stop Taking Apart My Filter!"

My filter's intake tube has a removable piece on the end, I suppose to keep little fish from being sucked up. However, the goldfish who are in there keep ramming the thing off and then chasing it all over the tank.
Should I just give in and chuck the piece?
Additional information:
The diameter of the intake tube is one inch.
All fish currently in the tank exceed 3'' long and 1 1/2'' tall.

They want a toy!
Have you got a small fishing bobber you can put in the tank?
A ping pong ball!
Good luck sleeping then!:hmm3grin2orange:

Haha, yeah that'll be lovely.
All night I'll just keep hearing this little tap... tap-tap... tap.... as they hit the ball against the glass.

Remove it at night!lol
It may tire them out during the day and let you sleep.
It also may not!:hmm3grin2orange:

That is too funny. How about a ping pong ball with a couple holes drilled in it? It might be a little less annoying if it had some water in it.

That would make it just a "pong" ball. I think the water would take out the "ping."

Give them a ping pong ball and rig up a little net, would make a great youtube video if they start playing. :hmm3grin2orange:

They don't play at night but sleep. Take it out when you turn the lights off. Great idea, NG.

Superglue the strainer in place if that doesn't inhibit the removal of the intake or anything like that.
