I just bought a used 75 gallon off of craigslist and Im after I buy a few parts for the canister I will start the fishless cycle. My plan is to get an Oscar and maybe some clown loaches. Reading a bunch of different sites most suggest giving the Oscars many places to hide. Would I just do that with driftwood and rock? Do you guys have any other hides or things you have done. So what Oscar would go good with blueish gravel with a blue background? (I can change the substrate if needed just what came with the tank)

I know feeder fish live in horrible conditions and I feel sorry for them when I go into a store. I have an extra 10 gallon tank would it be okay if I bought a few and housed them in the tank for a couple of weeks and took care of them would that still be potentially harmful to the Oscar?

If you're going to buy feeders, using the extra 10 is good, but 2 10 gallon tanks would be better. One will be a QT and the other a holding tank.

If you plan on clown loaches with an oscar they better be a lot bigger than the oscar.lol
You may want to give the loaches a place to hide too.The oscar will be the aggresser in that tank.
Please read up on these fish first.A 75 is not going to big enough to share because clowns do get large as well.

How about a pleco?
Was thinking about that as well, maybe some bottom feeders would they cause too much of a problem? Or be eaten haha
