Got a brand new little tiger oscar :)

Got him in the tank today, he is exploring right now. He looks so little in that huge tank! Only 2.5 inches, this picture is just about true to size:

Awww bless his, he's gorgeous. I have three red tigers and they are beautiful. He won't stay tiny for long! Mine were about your size when I got them, they are now about 5" long, and thats in a couple of months!

Haha yeah they're wonderful fish! It's name is Oliver, if it happens to be a girl well she will just have to deal with that. Haha.

Forgot to mention that I added filter media from another tank, as well as some substrate, so I believe that should take care of the bioload of one small oscar in a 65 gallon tank.

Oscars are a great fish, they seem so intelligent, we have an albino, my wife chose him because the others in the tank where picking on him lol, I can see why now, he is a big sook, the gentle giant.

He is very nice looking! Mine also looks too small for his tank.

ON a sadder and unrelated note: I bought an Oscar this weekend. White with orange markings. He had (seriously) a 6-6-6 on him and having just watched The Omen, we bought him and named him Damien.

Unfortunately, in our haste, we failed to observe him. It was a critically ill fish and it died within an hour :(
