A thirty gallon tank is the biggest tank I have ever owned and have always wanted a larger tank so you can understand my excitement at finding this at a yard sale.

A 75 gallon tank in great shape with a 55 gallon stand, I'll have to widen the top of the stand but that's easy enough.

Also included a Marineland Emperor 400 filter, Perfecto undergravel filter, All-Glass 4 foot twin light and two powerheads size unknown.

Total cost 35 Dollars... :19:

Now where to put it...:14:

Oh nice! I called on an advertised 55gal. the other day, to find that the owner had been frustrated trying to sell, and put it out in her yard for someone to take for free. Of course it disappeared quickly...:scry:

I dunno why I can never find these deals!!! I always find the person that thinks items never depreciate! "Yes I'm selling an IBM XT computer, I paid $10,000 for it in the early 80's so it must be worth as much today!"

Grrrrr... heh

Actually it wasn't me that found it, my better half went as she likes to call it yard sailing with her dad and found it at the first place they stopped. When she got home 3 hours later and told me about I made her take me there and couldn't believe it when it was still there. :shappy:

I just went searching on Craigslist for my area, nothing worth even a second look except maybe a Prizm protein skimmer for $50 or best offer. Bah...

Congrats on the sweet deal, a 75 has much better stocking potential than smaller tanks.

That's a phenomenal deal on a great size tank. So many things you can to with a 75g.

What kind of stand is it?

Black cabinet with 3 doors in the front, center door being fake. The top is only 16 inches wide while the tank is 18 1/2 wide. I don't think this stand was used with this tank.

The guy I bought this from said that he got several tanks/stands from an estate sale and he might have sold the right stand with the wrong tank.

I was going to widen the top but worried that a stand made for a 55 gallon might not like the extra weight of a 75 gallon so I'm going to build a stand.

The doors are real wood but the rest of the stand is made from MDF so I'll salvage the doors and go from there.
