I know we have been talking about heaters so i figured i would ask this. $11 for a 150 watt heater. Its an off brand i assume it could not trust worthy. But for say anything under 40gallons it should be ok to save the money on this right?

Never used that heater, but Rena is an excellent brand, well worth the price... a few years ago Mars bought both Rena and API just never got around to changing the product names on anything...

Even if it doesn't work as well as... say a visa-therm, 2 of those will be the same price as a 100 watt visa therm and 2 150 watts will be a lot more reliable.
If you're willing to take the risk on a somewhat new product I'd go for it.

just like the other posters ,Rena isn't a off brand it may say mars something or other , but that's a Rena i have one its the same rena cal top light excel but the 300w version best heater ever! other than the fact its glass instead of the new plastic ones, perfect temp always never has any problems i could only expect the same from the lil ones as well

I've got three of the 50W version, I'm happy with 'em.
