I ordered this fish on a whim with my shipment of corals...honestly next to no info on them online other than they are quite new to the hobby. But if any of you other marine folks get the chance to get one I highly suggest them. They are awesome fish. He has chosen a hole in the rock down from my eagle eye colony and has been actively feeding all day after only being in the tank for 2 days. He has really warmed up to my presence:22:

They are named from these blue striations on the face, it is supposed to look like a tribal war paint design.

Very nice looking fish MC. I like the little blue "tentacles" on his head.

The tentacles are known as cirri. I think they are cool to. How big does he get? How much did you pay?
I really like him.

My friend has one of those, None of us could remember what he was called. His is about 4 inch's i think and is very active and peaceful. If i remember correctly he wasnt overly expensive around the $50 mark

Yep, 3.5-4" seems to be the general max size. I paid 16.99 for mine from Pacific East Aquaculture....probably the deal of a lifetime as they are somewhat uncommon.

Thanks for the comments everyone :22:

I would say that your 14G cube offers enough gallons and territory for the Tribal Blenny just based on a blenny's behavior. Mine occupies the hole in the rock under the eagle eye colony and I have never seen it further than the halfway point of the tank. I also plan to add another fish in 3-4 months to finish the stock...probably a fire fish.

I would but I already have 2 damsels and a lawnmower blenny. Im not ure how they would react. The damsels are peaceful (Thank God!) and the lawnmower blenny is extremely peaceful but I still dont know.
