Hi a very quick question -
How long does it take for fish to get to full size?

Depends on many factors. Type of fish, tank size, feedings... but generally I'd say 2-4 years.

most fish continue to grow their entire lives. it all depends on food, water conditions and the enviroment like tank size and such

If you are lucky a tetra can live 5 yrs.
With phenominal care you may get longer.
To grow adult size about 2 yrs but as said it will continue slowly.

There is no try max size. Fish tend to grow quickly (relatively anyway) to a certain size in the first 18 months to 2 years of their life and that is often listed as the maximum/full grown size. However, most if not all will continue to grow at a considerably slower rate, but continue to grow nonetheless after reaching that size.

True ,but for smaller species such as tetra that xtra growth will be imperceptable and pertain more to there finnage and coloration.

Yeah, you're absolutely right. You'll notice it with bigger fish that live longer lives though such as plecos or an Oscar.
