Does anyone know of a good site that allows you to put in your tank paramaters like size and pH, current tank mates if any and then have it list what fish would be compatible for that environment and tank mates?

The reason I ask is the charts make the process very cumbersome. First I have to cross reference the current fish, check several charts since they don't list all species, then search out each species details to see if they actual would work. I am new to this so it seems a bit overwhelming and I don't want to end up with problems.

honestly. IMO researching is the best option. meaning look up the same fish on different reliable sites and compare. i don't use charts b/c the only one i have found have been made by people who either a) go on one opinion B) go by one site. i have yet to find an amazing site that does what you ask it to. i usuallly find charts that seem to hate bettas or sites that go by the rule of 1 inch per fish and don't even think about the bioload that the fish could have. and then you also have the issue of the chart not listing all the species you look for.

there are a couple sites which can help with that - but they really are just a tool and shouldn't be taken as the final word.

and

I don't think either of these suggest compatible fish tho - nor can you put in pH. All they do is tell you if the fish you have chosen are compatible, and if your tank can handle them.
**edit - both creators of these sites will take suggestions on species to add and parameters to use. they do NOT go by any general rules like 1" per gal etc**
