Hello all! I am new to the board and to freshwater fish and have come across something that I am finding nothing on.... I need help!
We recently bought a 6-gal Eclipse tank and after learning about cycling the hard way bought 2 Mollies after the tank tested cleanly. Three days later, the female gave birth to 3 fry (surprise!!!). We have separated them out into their own tank, but this morning the large tank appeared to have what looked like spider silk/webs floating between the 3 plants. We vacuumed them out, but tonight they have reappeared and it looks like they are coming off the female. Does anyone have a clue what this might be?
Tank has been testing a little high on nitrites and we have added an ion exchange resin packet, we are using 1/2 tsp aquarium salt to each gal of water change and all other levels are showing optimum. Any advice is appreciated.
