I have a blackmoore goldfish that I think has anchorworm, but I’m not sure. He gets these isolated white bumps that start off looking like ich, but they get larger and start looking like pimples with little worms sticking out part way. The other day he had one of these before I did a waterchange and when I was finished, I noticed a little slit where the pimple was. I’ve been looking at pictures of fish with anchor worm, but only one or two appear to have this pimple thing going.
I’m afraid I don’t have a working digital camera right now, so I hope I described it well enough. My questions are, do you think it’s achorworms, how do you treat anchorworms, and what type of first-aid do you suggest for the little lesions?

It does sound like aw.I have used jungle labs anchors away with success when treating a pond for it.This is a product that should work for you. What size tank and what other inhabs do you have with them? This stuff is not invert safe so if you have snails or shrimp you will have to relocate them during the treatment and for some time after as well.

Cholly shares a 55 gallon tank with two comet goldfish. I might have little freebie pond snails in there, and most certainly have detrius worms. My fish tend to eat any snails I put in there, so I probably don't have any.

If the snails mean nothing to you then treat away.AW will kill your fish if given enough time. You can treat the wounds with iodine applied directly to the wound area.Wait till the worms fall off.
