I need to keep track of when and what I've been doing to the tank lately, so figured I'd start keeping a journal. Tonight was a pretty major overhaul, so I'll start here.

Cleaned out both AC110s, added carbon to one.

Added a monster piece of maylasian driftwood (sp?), hence the carbon. Been soaking the driftwood for 5 weeks that I've had the 190. Vacuumed and rescaped the tank. Hadta lose some decor to add the wood. Also changed out the floss in my wet/dry. Filled everything back up and got er all running and everything's great. Looks better than ever!

Still got 20 frontosa fry in my sump and another front that has been holding since the 18th.

Hopefully this will keep my tank better updated and give me exact dates of cleanings and fry. Enjoy.

Domjor> will post lotsa pics soon, but my pics are being saved for a certain comp coming up soon. :)

Anyways, huge progress concerning the setup of my tank. Just picked up a brand new fluval FX5 for $160. Helluva deal and it's already kicking a$$ on my tank. So as of now I'm running 2x AC110s, Fluval FX5 and a 55g wet/dry. My water has never been clearer. Just sparkling!!! Was a bday/xmas present to myself. :)

I'll throw up a few of my fav pics to start this journal off....

UPDATE: I picked up one more clown loach for my schoal so I now have 6 clowns. He was a decent size (still smaller than my others), but a worthy pickup! :fish:

I also added carbon to my other AC110 (because of major tannins) and managed to vacuum my sump. Did some minor cleaning. Can see baby fronts in my holding female's mouth that will be stripped on the 18th. Currently 16 fronts are going into the 55g growout tank today to make room in my sump for more fry.

Sorry for the double post, but I got a few pics of my alpha male front. Excuse the poor photography. He is getting huge! Tank looks amazing in person, pics do not do it justice.

My oscars are displaying a disliking to the gravel vac now. They are not scared of it or my fingers. I expect to be tasted one day soon.:hmm3grin2orange:
I had an O years ago that just loved me.He would swim through my fingers and stop for a pet.He also loved to bite. That really started to hurt when he hit 14".

Thanks for the kind words discus dude!

A short update of this weeks events in my tank;

-did 3 water changes over the last 7 days
-changed poly floss in the wet/dry
-stripped 20 or so frontosa fry last night (to join current front fry in the 55g)
-picked up another nice clown loach bumping my shoal up to 6
-swapped out my glass lids for brand spankin' new plexiglass (thanks dad), think the plexi will be much better considering the aro is at a size where I think he could shatter the glass or bulbs and really hurt himself or the tank. Although it's the damn 2 braces ontop that he usually hits. More pics around christmas. :fish:

Aro is not looking good today. Busted up his head/face real good after a huge jump. Thinking about putting foam on the ends of my plexi and my tank braces.
No worries though, he will heal real good in a few days and it already looks a bit better. No melafix or nothing, just a 50% water change and keeping the tank as clean as possible. He is still eating like a champ and acting normal, he just likes to jump sometimes. He lost at least 3 scales in the melee... lol... no DE showing yet and I have my fingers crossed because he has bulked up so much and has quite a powerful jump! He definitely drenches the living room (even with an enclosed top).

Also added an L200 green phantom, almost full grown at 6"+ (my xmas present to myself). Doing awesome. Pics within a week when the aro is healed hopefully. :) :fish:

Quick update: everything is great! Aro totally healed within a week using no meds.

Cleaned out one AC110 and replaced the poly in the wet/dry yesterday. Did my usual monday 33% water change and all looks great. (mondays and fridays I do 33%)

Still waiting for my camera to be functional again. Be patient. Aro is 21" and looking real big now. Lately his diet has been fresh smelt, superworms, and topfin aro sticks.

I also took out a few pieces of decor to give my fish more room (they are all growing nicely).

They all look great Crispy.thumbs2:

Have you considered a glass or plexi lid to stop the Aro from jumping?

:1luvu: fronts! Too bad I'll never had a tank big enough to keep them though.

Is that a strawberry terracotta pot you have in your tank? Did you do anything special to it before you added it?

Thanks Jenn and Zilla! Yeah, they are terracotta pots and no, I didn't do anything to them. Some are glazed, so watch out for those ones.

Update: Been keeping up with twice weekly water changes, and the tank looks pristine! All fish are doing great.

I picked up an anubias plant for the helluva it since I havn't tried a plant in a few years. Got it tied through a hole in my big piece of driftwood near the surface. I believe it is a. belteri but not 100% sure. My lights are just 2x 4ft shop lights. I guess we'll see how it does... excuse the crooked intake, it's been fixed. :)
