I know, i know. We get alot of these posts. But, like me, alot of people have full tank setups, and have NO idea of what they want. Not a big fan of live bearers, as i already have some. ill take any sugesstions though.

a crayfish, or you could go with 10 neons, or a dwarf puffer

I would not go with a Crayfish in a 10g. They need 20g or more. Dwarf puffer can go in a 10g, but bigger tank is better.
Recomand
Shrimp
Snails
Dwarf Gouramis
Hatchets
Neons
Guppies
Plates
Mollies
Swordtails
Corys
Frogs
Dianios
Fish not recomanded
Silver Dollars
Non Dwarf Gouramis
Catfish besides Corys
Loches
Larger Puffes more then 4"

humm...betta, small tetras, bumble bee gobies, cories (dwarf cories better) kuhliis, hatchets, rasboras, dwarf puffer, shrimps, most livebearers, killi fish, some gouramies, pygmy sunfish.shrimps, africe dwarf frogs and snails are good fro invertsabrates.
a good website showing some other small fish suitable for small tanks, [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
EDIT: sword tails really need 15-20 gallons, mollies are recomended a bigger tank too.danios are active and probally need a bigger than 10 gallon. dwarf crayfish might be suitable. dwarf puffers are perfectly suited to smaller tanks, they need top quality water, but i have 1 in a 5 gallon, and its doing great. 10 gallon is fine for 1, or 2 dwarf puffers.
EDIT NUMBER TWO: freshwaterfishlover, reading your 29 gallon, soon to be stocking list, i think silver dollars arent suited. and cory catfish need to be in shoals of atleast 3+ per species, so atleast 3 micro cary, and atleast 3 bronze cory.

Not trying to take over the topic, but read my 29g stocking again.

I thought auratus or kribs could go in a ten?

Also, i was thinking about a crowntailed betta. I would put in three albino corys, and is there anything else? Ghost shrimp are a no, but i dont want to pay for expensive shrimp either.

Make it into a cherry shrimp breeding tank and sell them for a buck each.

Nah, some shrimp in a tank is interesting. A shrimp tank with 100+ shrimp is kinda boring. If i wanted to breed, id do barebottom.

That would be PERFECT!!! And so pretty!:19:

Do you know of anything else that i could put in it?
All I can suggest is what I've tried...which are:
Mollies - but then you have the salt issue
Platies
Long-finned rosy tetras (unless they have another name, let me double-check)
Zebra danios
...or any other easy-going fish along those lines...
...no gouramis!!!

The zebras are 99 cents at my LFS. Does anyone see any immediate problems? If not, i think 1 crowntail, 3 albinos, 3 zebras?

Anyone at all?

Looks like you're stuck with me:
Okay...I've rethunk it...given it's only 10g...and the betta is a top swimmer...I think you'd better stick with a tetra, which is a mid-water swimmer, since you'll have the corys on the bottom...good use of tank space...
As I thought...my tetras were mislabelled...what I have are:
Hyphessobrycon callistus
Common Names : Serpae Tetras, Jewel Tetra, Red Minor Tetra
This site says they may fin-nip...but again, I've had them for about 2 years and I've seen no sign of any nipping...

Do you think red eyed tetras would work?
Sorry bout all the questions. The only experiance i have had with bettas was when i kept one back when i was 6 in a 2.5 gallon hex.
I'm not familiar with those...so I did a quick look-see...
Didn't read anything major that would put me off from trying...

I like the look of the red eyes, but i dont know if my bioload will be too much. i am cycling right now at a touch above 5 ppm with seeded gravel/decorations.
10g you say. Go for a nano reef ... :ezpi_wink1:
Actually, I just bought 2 new 10g myself and have a 3rd one on order ($30 each for the kits). They'll all be used for nano reefs, I came up with an interesting display and sump system for them.
Anyway, that leaves me with 1 10g sitting idle right now and am in the same dilema as you are. What to put in it.
What about a nice betta and some guppies? Lots of colours me thinks.

i have to admit, i shoved mine in a 10g, but the auratus wasnt really happy. The krib would do fine, but the auratus likes large tanks. Mine has the 33g now

freshwaterfishlover, i misread your stocking, gouramies are what you are going to add, now im not saying i know lots about silver dollars, but the ones labels at the fish shop are pretty big, i wouldnt have thought they would go in a 29gallon. and cories do need to be in bigger shoals, thats a fact.
a betta, 3 cories, and a shoal of 5 easy going tetras would be ok, go for something like black neons. or rasboras.

From what I have read. You will need to be careful with the guppies as theor long flowing tails can cause your betta to become aggressive.
I have a betta in a five gallon and would love to add some guppies but am hesitant for this reason.
