We had a total disaster in my 75 gal where a heater malfunctioned and turned it into a big batch of fish soup. I lost 6 Neolamprologus tretocephalus,
4 ink fin calvus and 4 orange comps. We had gone away for three days and came home to a tank at 98 degrees. The rena smart heater turned out to be not so smart after all. After a total break down and cleaning I am putting in
8 'Lamprologus' brevis. I will try and locate a different type of shellie in the future to add to these guys.

So sorry you lost all those fish, Sailor. Glad you've gotten more but that's a "hit" none us want to take.

So sorry to hear about your heater malfunction. I think that's always a worry of fishkeepers. You never know when something will go wrong.

I'm happy that you are rebuilding. Send pics once the new tank is up and running.

Well the fish arrived safe and sound but a lot smaller than I was expecting lol. Lucky if they are 3/4 of an inch. They seem to be doing ok but so far rarely get a glimpse of them. To many hiding spots for them. The shells are a bit on the large side too. I am working this weekend so I will try and post some pics of them on my next day off which is Wed. Thanks for all the kind words and kind thoughts.
