and why do you only want one fish?
You could do a single goldfish.

You could do "1" Oscar, at least until he grew up :hmm3grin2orange:
I have a community going, its slightly understocked because i decided not to get German Blue Rams, so Im looking for something to fill the space

Then its not a solitary fish is it.... cos there are other fish with it...
An angel fish?
Well, not a solitery fish, but a fish that doesnt need to live in groups

More information is always a good thing....
An angel is a good fish on its own in a community, provided better other fish
Ok, fish currently in the tank:
1 mystery snail
5 harlyquin rasboras
3 Platies
4 guppies
Fish planned for tank
1 pleco (either butterfly, clown, or candy-stripped)
1 dwarf gourami
6 cardinal tetras

I'd up the rasbora and tetra numbers to about 8 instead of getting a large centerpeice, that role should be filled by the dwarf gourami pretty well.
You could go with an angel, but there's a chance that the cards and guppies will end up snacks in a couple years.
