Iunno if i have this in the right section, but I didn't see one that said "stocking." Why isnt there one? Or did i miss it?

I'm setting up a 500 gallon tank.
measurements are 96''x36''x36''
sand, driftwood, minimal planting
filtration Undecided

for stocking i'm thinking
3x lima shovelnose
6x altifrons cichlid
10x brown hoplo catfish
2x giant whiptail

am i overstocked or understocked?

We're thinking about a 600-700 tank some time within the next year. Probably 144Lx36Wx30H. Either going to do a predator tank, native tank, or marine ray tank.

I'd like to see to how this goes for you. As for filtration, I would probably use a wet-sump filter, 17644. Link to where to get the Poret foam ([Only Registered Users Can See Links.]), its good stuff. I imagine a 20 or 30 long would do fine, maybe even a bigger Rubbermaid tub.

You're right - there's no "stocking" section. I think it would be a great addition.
