lol

the jewels would be fine - its the rest of the fish you'd need to worry about...

Crayfish would be eaten by the bluegill, pleco would get far too large to contain in a 55, gouramis are too much of a warm water species (as well as the pleco and jewels), and I'm fairly certain a jewel would eventually start to beat up on the fish. So, there's an overall view of why it wouldn't work out. Hope this helps explain a little bit :22:

Agreed your jewel would either kill them outright or stress them into sickness, and they crayfish would either eat the stressed fish or be eaten.

Pleco would probably be fine though,as long as it is big enough to not be food for anyone else.

the pleco is big enough not to be picked on by the bluegill, and the crayfish is to big to be eaten. the jewel would be around 2-2.5 inches if i get one. im planning on a bigger tank for the pleco so the gouramis could go in with it, and so that leaves the crayfish and the bluegill. the bluegill is pretty aggressive so could defend itself if the jewel gets rowdy. but from what i hear the jewel probably wouldnt be a good idea?

No, you just got 3-4 people saying no no matter what the situation was. Bluegill=coldwater jewel=warm water jewel<bluegill.
