Ever hear the riddle about getting a fox ,a chicken, and some grain across a river in a rowboat?

Started thinking more about my upcoming move and realizing how much time is going to be spent just moving the aquariums. Luckily I have those stock tanks laying around I can use, as well as some rubbermaid bins.

I am moving them from one side of a duplex to the other, so it is close enough to easily keep all the water I have, just have to sort out HOW.

Tanks-

225G-full
110G-full
55G-full
10G-full
29G-empty
125G- empty
40G- empty

So I am thinking...
move all the empties over to the new place.
move the goldfish from the 110 to the 40, use rubbermaid for the rest of the water.
move the 225 fish into the 125.
put the rest of the water into the 110.
move the 225.
put 225 fish and water back into the tank.
drain the 55 into the 110.
move 55.
restock 55.
drain 10G into 29, move, refill.
Move goldfish back into 110 and and refill.

Just gonna have to make sure the water temp stays the same from one tank to the other, and I need to get a pump, as this will take all day without one. (the 225 takes about 4 hours to drain with a water hose/gravity).

I'll let the misses handle the furniture. :hmm3grin2orange:

Put your fish in the totes with tank water.
keep your substrate and your filters wet.
Throw out the rest of the water and give them fresh when you reset everything.
Your cycle will not be hurt if you refill with dechlorinated water.
The old tank water is just dirty dechlorinated water full of fish pee! lol

I'm going to be moving in february and have already begun devising a plan. I figure it's going to take a full day just to move the tanks.....not looking forward to that.
