Hi everyone, asking this in behalf of a friend !
She's just set up a new tank and has put some bog wood into it. She didn't soak ot for long enough and now she has brown water. Is there anything she can do to get rid of it ?
Thanks in advance :D

Continuing with water changes and the brown will eventually go away. It's just tannins, normal for a short time and doesn't hurt the fish. You can boil it for awhile if you can find a pot big enough or just soak it in hot water in a large trash pail if she wants. But........just with weekly water changes, it will soon go away.

Activated carbon will help to remove the color, but time is really your best bet.

The brown water will not harm any fish.
Its harmless but can be hard to look at.Water changes whenever it gets too bad or one large W/C per week should do.
It will stop but that can take a while.
Is it store bought wood?

some woods will stop after a few weeks others could go months, its not going to hurt the fish so it's best to just wait it out
