I purchased 8 Harlequins when I was away, thinking that they were too big to fit in the mouth of my Leopared Ctenopoma. WRONG!!! Two disappeared, (expensive snacks)and the rest are now in my 29gal! I guess I'll be looking for a bigger schooling fish!:scry:

Sounds like he got hungry. It is amazing the size prey some fish can eat.

Mine is VORACIOUS. It'll eat full grown guppies when I think there's no way. Defnitely my favorite fish to feed.

I think a larger tetra like congos would work. Gant danios and rainbows too.

How big is it?
I think these guys get 6+. At that size eventually school could equate to 'snacks for later".. thumbs2:
Best of luck!!
I would almost think you have to have a schooling fish like a roseline shark, or congo tetras. Anything smaller will become lunch.
I always find it disconcerting when my pets eat each other...:scry:
I'm still upset that the dogs killed the poor chicken that got loose (back in July).
The dogs don't bother the chickens while they're out in the pen at all - zero interest. But apparently chickens are fair game if they're not physically IN the pen.

Oh yeah!Aint it greatthumbs2: I love mine,he is a neaky bugger too.He loves rosy reds.Just treat him like an Angelfish for tank mates. If it isnt torpedo shaped its safe. There mouth really isnt that big,not like a leaf fish.

I've already got Congos and Rainbows. I'm thinking I'll go with a rounder fish, similiar to Black Skirts. I also added five YoYo loaches(approx. 2inches) at the same time...I assume they are safe???

Yeah the loaches will be fine, they wouldnt be if the bush fish was full size and they were 2".My bf is about 4" and can eat 2" rosys but they are very slender.
