Like the title says. :)

More than likely going to be running 2 AC 70's. Will that pose a problem with the current they generate?

Question though: Are they jumpers? I'd like to keep this tank's top open and hang it's lights from a shelf above the tank.

Cheers!

The current is fine. The fish will be fine with it. That really is not that much for a 55 gallon tank. All fish can jump though gouramis are not particularly know for it. Open tops can allow all kinds of things to get in a tank so be careful what you use around them. I run all my tanks open topped.

The issue I see is ten dwarf gouramis in the same tank will have issue with each other. They will want to establish territories and they will fight with each other to get them. I do not think you have enough real estate to keep them all happy.

I would actually go with 10 honey gourami instead of the flames. They're about the same coloration and honeys are very sociable gouramis. With the flames you would want more females than males (so each male could have a harem) and females are hard to find and dull colored.

Male flames need either solitary tanks or 10-15 gallons of territory per fish. And even then I do not condone putting even 5 in your 55. Get honeys, or get three-four females to a male.(which is pointless if you want flames for their color. Females are gray-silver.)
