"betta bulbs" Some grow some dont. Ive heard you can send the duds away to the company for more though.
Its some type of lilly, usually.

I bought three of those a long time ago, I think they came with 5 or 6 bulbs in each package... out of all of them, one sprouted and has flourished, it was a lilly. You are able to send the bulbs that don't sprout back and they will be replaced.

I've had some luck with them. My favorites are the onion bulbs, wish they made just packets of those. The aponogenton sprouted and so did the tiger lotus.

I picked up a two pack of them from petco a few months ago, put them in my 10 and then moved them to the 55 when I consolidated/upgraded. Since then they've become dinosaur plants, sprouting up and filling the middle third of my tank. It's neat, they provide cover for the fish and break up line of sight, but I'm starting to become a little concerned they're going to cover the top of the tank and cut off light for the other plants. They took almost no care, I've got pretty much all low-light, low-care plants and haven't added ferts or anything to the tank.
I got one out of the entire bunch to sprout, now its a massive aponogeton, and a week ago it dropped lil mini ones off a bloom that was underwater, so now theres about 15 of em growing. Does a good job of covering the top and keepin the light dimmer.

I got a package of 4. After a month one of them sprouted, the other three smelled like rotten eggs.
The one that lived though ended up being my favorite lilypad (though I still dont know what it is.)
