I added an AquaClear 70 to my tank last night and it has really added a strong current! Even at the lowest setting it is really moving everthing around. The gold barbs and the red tailed shark swim up to where the flow hits the glass and then they seemingly surf it underwater (like the turtles in Nemo). It is pretty funny to watch how much fun they seem to be having with it.

Its so strong I am going to have to turn it off if I give the fish flakes...

one downside...I had a tall plant uprooted after it got mixed up with some wysteria...crazy. The water seems clearer, and like I said, this fish seem to be enjoying it...

I feel better about having more adaquate filtration in the tank.

Is this the 46 gallon tank? The fish in there will have no problem with the current. It really is not all that much in that tank.

Cool. I was severly underfiltered before. Like I said, the fish love it, its like they are at a water park! My red-tailed shark in particular is happy. He is out a lot more since I installed it last night.

I doubt the current will have any bad effects, your tank is big enough for it.
I have ac 50s on a 35 without any poblems.
