So I use sand as my substrate as I think it looks better. I do water changes once a week (30%) and at that time I clean the sand I have a vacuum that I use and it sucks up plenty of junk. however today I wanted to move my items around and I took them all out and a boat load of poop or other stuff started to float I moved my sand around more and so much I had to do a 75% water change. I have a filter and I dont overfeed this is a tank of 4 guppies so I do one little dash of the food and its all eaten. I have a two corys as bottom feeders. This is a 10 gallon tank. What im worried about is my larger 40 gallon tank has sand as well. It looks a lot cleaner and I dont do anything different still 30% WC and I clean things with the larger vacuum
Oh and OT question would guppies be able to eat brine shrimp I just bought myself a large hatchery and I'm wondering about that
another OT question how long does a guppy take to give birth seems like mine has been prego for over a month her stomach makes her look like shes about to blow up but shes not moving slow she isnt hiding and she plays with the other fish.

a 10 gallon is smaller...so no wonder your 40 gallon is cleaner.
guppies would eat brine shrimp.
idk how long a guppy will be pregnant for. but you'll know when it's about time for to give birth. if she looks like you said she does, then she'll probably do it soon.

Guppies drop every 4-6 wks.It'll happen soon.lol
I find my ten gal tanks get rather dirty as well.More filtration never hurts.
The amount of crap that will accumulate in your 40gal tank will depend on what fish you stock it with, how much filtration you have.

Corys need to be in groups of 6+ and unless you have pygmy corys, a 10g is too small for that school
what species of cory is it

Okay so im not good at names, but it looks like a ghost
and what if I get a 29 gallon tank how many guppies do you think would fit in there as well as corys.

Guppies can give birth every 4-6 weeks and up to 6 times from one spawning and can hold the sperm for future fertilization for up to 6 months. 3 guppies oculd fill your 10gal in a hurry. :)
Sounds like you have Albino cories. To get them in a group of 6 you will need that 29gal or you could move them to the 40 gal. Honestly though, while 6 is the recommended number for cories, they will live in a group of 3. They will not be as comfortable as they would be in a larger group.
