Well, thinking about a 500 for the future, and with all the extra room we will have in the tank, we are considering keeping the pacu and putting him back in with the other fish if he behaves. Would a pacu be fine in a 500 with 12 other fish, all around 1' if not more? I'm leaning on no, but I would like to double check just in case. Big fish keepers, help is wanted. Whaddya think?

I would think that would be about 6 to many, what kind of filtration are you going to run? What other type fish? R u going to do 2 waterchanges a week?

thats a lotta room, but also a lotta fish. It really comes down to the types of fish you intend to keep and your filtration.

That fish will cause damage when its get big.lol
I don't feel 500 gallons would be enough for a Pacu grow out tank!
Thats just my opinion.
Expect it to break any hardware,heaters,filter tubes etc.
I know cocoa pleco is having a hell of a time with his.Its not in a 500 but he has a large tank for it.

It might be glass...it might also be acrylic, I'll have to check. Again, this is only a theory, as we just can't seem to get rid of this pacu. The filtration will most likely be 2 fx5s, possibly more to keep up with my fish.
