I will take you in, I have 2 tanks to spare now, and a little cocoa-pleco would look great in one.

Pft, 12 hours is nothing! ;)

I just drove for 3 hours round trip a few days ago for that 55g. Unforunately it wasn't nearly what I had expected, but hey, at 50 bucks for the tank, stand and an eheim classic, I'll take it. If you feel this is a good deal, then by all means......ROADTRIP! ;)

MAN, not what you expected, I reckon if you put the tank and other acc on ebay, you will come ot MILES AHEAD.

I was thinking about it, but the stand really needs more work (refinishing) before I feel right about selling it on Ebay because it looks a lot better in a picture

Or maybe I'll just dump the whole thing for 75 bucks and make sure to let them know where it's broken, etc. Bottom plastic rim on the tank is cracked in one corner, which kinda scares me. Some epoxy should fix it up though.

All in all, I wonder if this whole ordeal was even worth it, I mean a new 75g tank with a pine stand is 260 here.

Mate, If you are only talking about the, angle that goes around a tank, dont let that dishearten you, when I seen the crack in my 120G, I told the guy about it who built it, he came around and cut the end out of it, replaced it and I filled it 2 days later with half a tonne of water, that was 3 weeks ago,

Cut off the suspect peice and silicon on another, even if you fill it in the shed to see if it holds.

Cool, sounds good. Will give that a try! To be honest, the whole thing was kind of disheartening lol. I was expecting a nice, finished oak stand and a very clean, new looking tank (lady told me it was a year old - complete lie). Next time, I'm just gonna get a new tank so the water holding capability of my tank won't keep me up at night ;)

And again, as a past cabinatemaker, you take the time to sand that stand back and refinish and you will not be disapointed, if it is only the laquer that is bad, use a very fine sandpaper to bring it back to a finish that looks acceptable, relaquer, let it dry, then get a fine dishwashing pad your mom may use, scrub the whole thing with this, untill it feels smooth, then another heavy coat of laquer, it will look a million dollars:thumb:
