Hey guys, I just picked up a 60 gallon tank used. Its a nice tank and it has a small leak in it. After draining the tank and bringing it home i noticed that seems to be what seems like black mold between the stainless steel trim and glass. I have picked up 2 tubes of selant form the local fish store but i was wondering what to do about the mold? It is a realy nice tank and i got such a deal. I dont want to use any chemicals on it what so ever.
Also i dont have to set this tank up right away because i have a few tricks up my sleeve that i want to do.
Thanks Jason

You will have to get all the silicone and mold out before resealing it.

I used vinegar and a algae scrubby.
Bleach and water works very well too.
Make sure you rinse it out several times to get rid of the smell.
Let it air dry once you feel it is clean enough.Tape and silicone.
Be patient and have lots of paper towel handy to keep your hands and tools clean. It makes for a much nicer job.

What ever you use you must get it all out.
If you can smell it,rinse again.Air drying works well too.
For mold I use bleach.
