Right Ive been waiting to resubscribe to practical fish keeping once they did a good opening offer. This month its a fluval E seris Advance heater.
So I will either use it on my 20G tropical tank or 24ish G marine tank to be set up yet, so what wattage ither 100w or 300w

I'd go with the 100w. I have a 100w Stealth heater in my 35g tank, and it holds the set temp perfectly.
I always worry that a more powerful heater would "cook" the fish, if it malfunctioned.

the 100 watt is plenty, you require around 4-5 watts per gallon.

100W will be perfect. I used my 100w Stealth on my 20L and now its on my 29g. No problems.

Just chiming in to agree that the 100w will be just right.
