Just upgraded my lighting system and am trying to find the best bulb combination. (48 inch T8 set up) I have a blue acinitc bulb (spelling) and a 5000K bulb. It is a good balance, it makes the tank not look too blue and my africans that have blue in them look good. However, my yellow and red colors on my fish don't have as much "pop." Would it be better to get a 10,000k bulb instead of the 5000k bulb? Would this increase the appearance of the reds and yellows of my fish? What combinations have worked for you guys? thanks...

I have a coralife aqualight duel set up on my 80g cichlid tank and I run a row of actinic and a row of 6700/10,000 duel daylight bulbs. and I love the colors in my tank. I would like to see the reds a little bit more but the yellows and blues are great.

I run twin 3' dual T5 strips on my 125 mbuna tank. I keep 1 10,000k daylight and 1 full actinic in each one. It seems to provide a good compromise to show all the colors. Not too yellow and not too blue.

thanks for the responses, I think I will go that route of a 10000k bulb and one actinic bulb.
