So I finally got my floor reinforced this weekend for the 185g acrylic L-shaped tank I bought a few months ago. Been doing research on equipment the past few weeks and this is what I think I need so far. I plan on having the tank heavily planted. If you see something that I forgot to find that I need or that I have listed but have a better product, please let me know.

Sump Tank:

Pre-Filter - [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
Biological Filter - [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
Return Pump - 1200 Model [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
Heater - 300w [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]

Main Tank:

Bulkheads - 2 1" [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
CO2 System (Eventually) [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
Heater - 300w [Only Registered Users Can See Links.]
Lighting - Need opinions. I need 1 36" pushing at least 500w and 1 24" pushing at least 300w

looks like you have it really planned out, good luck and would love to see pictures of this tank.

also would a hole saw drill bit work for drilling out the holes for the bulkheads?

2, 250w suspended metal hallides would probably be your best bet for the lighting. Sounds like a great tank in the making.

yes, the hole saws will definately work on acrylic , no problem.
you may have to drill part way and finish from other side to avoid splintering/cracking. and when you drill, do not push hard "through" the acrylic. just let the hole saw work its way through gently. good luck with your endeavor.
