Anyone ever had a well fed pleco attack smaller fish aside from goldfish?

Live ones not dead ones.

I have one that attacks my severum and the two perch I have.
Its a mean sob.
It was given to me with a tank.I think I am going to give this one to my lfs.

Bah..thank you.

got a 9" in with a bunch of smaller fish, and a guppy just popped up with a mising head and all his fins gone...over like 2 hours...two weeks ago my betta lost 1/2 of his fins overnight. thinking the plec may be the culprit after all...not judging but once he gets a taste for small fish...not welcome in my setups...

I would get rid of the pleco.
What other fish are in the tank with the betta?
Goldfish may be the culprits too.
Have you sat and watched the tank much?

its my small fish community tank.

Though it could be the giant danios I suppose

Giant danios, young bala sharks, serpae tetra, red eye tetra, guppies, bettas, mollies, dojo loaches, kuhli's, platys, swordtails, and cories.

A betta has no business in that community.
It could be any but not the corys platys and loaches.

yeah yeah....and my convict doesn't belong with my mbuna, and my auratus doesn't belong with anything else....

aside from that one incident, which was purely due to lack of cover, he is doing great. Actually making a nest right now.

He is living up in the hornwort area, and he only tries to attack anything that gets within like 4" of his bulkhead hole, and most of the fish are rarely in that section of the tank, aside from the fry and the occasional mom giving birth. He sleeps in the bulkhead hole which is 1" PVC and goes in about 4".
