Building a 15 gallon tank for my parents and little sister at their home this weekend. She definitely wants a school of neon tetras and something else. I suggested a dwarf Cory, and we found some panda cories at the LFS. How many of each? 8 Neons and 6 Cories too much? 6 and 6? Other suggestions are also welcomed.

Eight Neons and six Cories should work...if the tank is cycled. Neither will do well in a cycling tank.

Thanks. I plan on using my media cartridge from one of my current tanks and putting it in the new tank's filter. Ended up buying the same filter (Penguin Bio wheel) which is rated for a 30gal tank, so plenty of filtration!
My lil sis is 13 so this will be a learning experience for her (and teaching one for me!) I already forwarded lots of information from this site, including the ebook ;)

IMO, for only a 15g, the school of corries is not a good idea, unless they are dwarfs.
