Since I deleted the last video and somebody was asking about Bowfin and Aros together, I figured I would post up a new one. Here is tonights feeding!

The Bowfin may be the craziest fish i've ever kept (possibly second to the Shortnose Gar). I think you'll see what I mean in the vid.

Anyway...enjoy!

YEAH! Awesome pred tank! Love that bowfins undulating dorsal. I frequently see all sizes of them in the Mitchell's Bay inlet. Bunch of shallow, weedy creeks that branch off Lake. St. Clair. Don't think I have the guts to own one though. lol. thumbs2: thumbs2: thumbs2:

Thanks everyone! The Bowfin's dorsal fin is almost hypnotizing! I can't wait until my fiance and I get a house and can upgrade the fish to a larger tank.

Hybridguy - Front is about 12+ inches. I change water 50% twice a week.

Red - That's my fiance's photobucket page...lol!

great vid! im really temped to make a plexiglass tank about 250 gallons or so for a bow and silver aro. your bowfin is an absolute beast! if more people went out and cought these instead of keeping snakeheads the snakeheads wouldnt be in our waters

Hmm, I see bowfin, aro, giant gourami, front, gar, a bichir maybe? and something else I thought. DANG! that is one heck of a mix and they all look super healthy and happy, Nice job on this tank, and beautiful fish.

LOL just looked back and guess I could have just read your signature to see what fish they were.

Thanks guys!

By most peoples standars the tank is "overstocked"...however a little TLC and hard work go a long way! I've gone through alot of headaches to get this tank where it is. Preds don't always feel the need to get along...:ssmile:

It does almost put you to sleep. When I get my 375+ gallong tank I am planning on a nice Clown Knife. I've always loved kives too!

my favorite is the tiger knife

They are cool, but wouldnt hold up in this tank. I have always wanted an Aba aba knife, but I would be scared it would turn my tank upside down! They are true beasts!
